1. Anonymous asked: "If your a shorter dude with normal shoulders, Don’t buy a suit with padded shoulders,..." The correct spelling is "you're". You're = you are. Your = belonging to you. You make this mistake quite often in YOUR articles. You also capitalize "Don't" after the comma, which is not correct. The many grammatical errors in your otherwise good articles are distracting and annoying.

In the next article I post I’ll make sure to be more attentive to my grammar.

  4. Which Shoulder Style Should You Be Opting for?

Ever since men’s garments have been in existence, there has been a heavy debate over what the shoulder of a suit should look like,  throughout history the look of padded shoulders has gone in and out and then in again, so the real question is, what should YOU be wearing?

if your curious as to what the difference is, you should take a look above, the model with the padded shoulder looks alot more masculine and gives a more athletic image than the guy with the non-padded shoulder. But is that the prerogative? do people want to look like a linebacker, or should you just want to look handsome.

If your a shorter dude with normal shoulders, Don’t buy a suit with padded shoulders, the look will not only make your neck look shorter, but it will also make you look boxier (which means that if your even slightly not in shape, you’ll look even heavier). For shorter thin guys i would definitely suggest getting a natural shoulder as opposed to a padded because it’l keep with your silhoette without making you look like your stuffing tissues under your suit jacket.

For the taller crowd though, some of you are candidates for padded shoulders. If you already have strong shoulders, resist the urge to buy the padded jacket because you’ll look like a linebacker, if your a regular guy though, and your shoulders are out of proportion with your otherwise strong features (examples of strong features are large mandibles, a muscular physique, or a large torso) then your a great canidate for a lightly padded shoulder.

As a final note on the subject of shoulder pads, large ones should always be avoided, leave the big ones to the linebackers and rugby players, also as an alternative to padding the shoulder, getting “roped” shoulders (the second image) is an alternative which adds structure to the shoulder without getting in the way of the body’s natural shoulder slope.

  6. what does a fashionable guy wear in the rain?

If you haven’t already guessed the answer, it’s a trench coat! While there are alternatives to the trench coat, e.g. the hooded windbraker, and the winter coat that also has a hood, the trench is still a basic necessity for anyone looking to build a wardrobe, or keep dry.

In 1901 Thomas Burberry pioneered a new rain resistant cloth called “gabardine”. Almost immediately, the British army fell in love with the fabric and started using it in the production of rain jackets for soldiers operating in the trenches under bad weather conditions. Now as you gaze at the pictures above, you ask yourself, “Will this work on me?” well, no worries, there is a variation of the trench coat for everyone, for the tall folk, I suggest going for one with a belt and with a length that hits right above the knee. For the regular sized folk though, I suggest a trench without a belt that hits at the area immediately after our crotch zipper ends.

One a side note though, the Trench won’t keep you entirely dry, your head and chest are still pretty exposed. For insurance you might want to buy a fairly cheap umbrella or invest in a good rainproof hat. (What type of hat? You ask, find out in an article sometime in the future)

  7. Plaid Shirts? Yes or No?

The plaid shirt has for awhile been a very controversial subject within the fashion community, some implied that it was simply unflattering, and others preached that it was the textile of the devil himself, but there was one small voice in the designer community who said that even the plaid can look good if done right, and they were right. A plaid shirt is very tricky for a designer to pull off, there are lots of colors that usually all have to be nuetral, and worse is the size of the plaid, the thickness of the stripes, and all sorts of things that make the designing process more difficult.

However if you direct your attention to the pictures above you might notice that the shirts are neither boring nor are they unflattering. Why is that though? What diffrentiates these plaids to the plaids of previous generations is in their details, note the bright colors, the fit, and the pattern size. These shirts are more than acceptable alternatives to plaid, they are fashionable, so go out and buy one! (and if you have time, join the FB page using the link somwhere down below)

  8. Should You Be Wearing THAT Tie?

For hundreds of years ever since ties became popular they have been changing in witdth and length, some people attribute the changes to mass phsycology, others to the cost in producing silk, and others to our obssesion with anything skinny, But what really matters is what type of Tie you should wear. We all know that for some reason certain people can pull off the skinny tie wheras on others the skinny tie just looks wrong, and at the same time we know that some guys look great with a wider tie while others look like clowns…

This is because of something called proportion, for example, Do you think a guys whos 4 ft tall should wear a 4 ft tall top hat? if you answered yes, then you were wrong. When a person gets dressed, he should keep in mind that everything he wears should be proportional to his body size. This idea is why men under 5ft 10 have to buy a “short” suit jacket as opposed to a “regular” one, now, going back to ties, from this concept we can ready ourselves for what tie we should choose while getting dressed. If you haven’t figured out what tie you should be wearing based upon the information above, then check out the chart below:

    Height:                                                     Width:

below 5ft 10 and average to skinny bulid:       2-1 1/2 inches width (skinny)t

    Above 5ft 10 and average to skinny build:      2 3/4 -3 inches  width (slim tie}

Above 6ft 2 and average to skinny build:        3- 3 1/2 inches width {standard size “wide tie”)

(Note: if you are overweight, just go one hight category up)

(Note #2 : if you are taller and want to wear a skinny tie, go ahead, just make sure that your suit has slim lapels and your collar is short)

  10. SoCal style, Good or Bad?

    Emo/scene guy? wearing hollister lol

We’ve all seen it before, the shaggy hairdo, the bead/leather bracelet, the untucked shirt, the boardshorts with that sort of overly large belt hanging around, the trend began some time ago probably when some fashion editor  decided that it would be cool for everyone to look like they just walked off a beach in california, even if its winter outside…

Since then the trend has manifested itself in stores like Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, and periodically in American Eagle as well as a plethora of other lesser known brands. the major question though, that lies before us is, Is SoCal style fashionable? The answer is more complicated than a straightforward yes or no, SoCal style is fit for some age groups and situations whileas in others it is totally awful and flies in the face of fashion.

Since SoCal style descends from the surfers of california, it comes with a sort of wreckless non-conformist attitude, which is for an adult, something that would be completely improper to adopt, however for a kid whos within the age group of 9-15 years old, the SoCal style is’nt that bad because it reflects the nature of the age, however as one gets older, one should start slowly to ween themselves off of the SoCal garb, beginning by losing the pants and the boardshorts and then the beaded bracelets, and then the ripped jeans, and the shirts, and finally then the T-shirts witht their blaring obnoxious logos.

As we get older its importnant to dress in a way which is more proper and conveys an image of responsibilty and maturity, because for the most part we are not all Surfers, we’re adults (or young adults) and its our job to convey that image. as a side note though, if you are a surfer, the entire preceding paragraph does not apply to you.
